Beth is a QuickBooks® Certified Pro Advisor and has a BA in Bilingual Education from University of Wisconsin–Madison, training from Madison Area Technical College, Madison WI, and is certified in reflexology.
“I ‘fell’ into this work when I took over bookkeeping duties for our family business. I decided I wanted to take classes to understand the ’whys’ and ‘hows’ of what I was doing. Being a person who likes loose ends wrapped, I quickly came to love the tidiness of bookkeeping, and enjoy the satisfaction of well-balanced books. My experience continued to develop over the years as I worked for a Financial Controller and took over his position when he passed away. For many years I volunteered as Treasurer for my church, implementing new accounting programs.”
Having been a business owner, Beth understands the managerial point of view, and treats every client’s business as if it were her own. She’s not satisfied with “just okay,” and will work until a problem is solved or a job is finished. Cleaning up books and reconciling accounts is her specialty. She believes that if cash accounts are correct, many other problems are resolved. Clients consider her trustworthy, well organized, thorough and efficient.
“At the risk of sounding like a nerd, I love discussing accounting, and solving problems with Excel, figuring out how to extract the data I need. Fortunately, I have friends and family who feel the same way! I’m so fortunate to live close to my five grandchildren, and love to go biking and hiking with them.”
As a native of Madison, WI, Beth still lives only a mile from her childhood home. She also loves to do reflexology to help people relax and find ease from health issues. Certified in 2013, she finds that “the peace that comes to me as well as my clients helps ground and center me.”
“I really enjoy working with a variety of businesses and industries and love the challenges that come my way. I’m very happy to be a part of the Gem Numerics team!”
